Good for you. Good for the environment
If you are concerned about the environment, the food you eat and where and how it’s produced, then you may like to consider Jalna’s BioDynamic Organic range.
‘BioDynamic’ is from the Greek - “bios” means life and “dynamis” means energy. The BioDynamic life force begins with the health of the soil, giving plants the nutrients and energy to sustain growth to then feed the animals. Jalna sees BioDynamic farming as a powerful renewal of nature and the decision to buy its own BioDynamic Organic dairy farm in 1998 reflected its commitment to producing nutritious foods in a healthy environment.
Under Organic farming practices, crops are grown and processed without using synthetic chemicals, fertilisers or GMOs (genetically modified organisms) and animal welfare is emphasised. It is a natural means of supporting crops and animals.
BioDynamic foods and advanced Organic principles
BioDynamic foods are produced according to advanced Organic principles, including techniques to stimulate and maintain the natural biological activity of the soil – a pre-requisite for any sustainable agricultural system. Healthy soil means healthy plants, animals and people.
With BioDynamic farming, the soil is carefully enlivened and nurtured deep down without chemicals or water-soluble fertilisers (see ‘In Touch With Nature’). This practice builds up the soil’s natural fertility, helps conserve moisture and enhances natural biological activity. With healthy plants and soil structure, pesticides and herbicides are not needed.
BioDynamic Organic principles follow such regenerative agricultural practices as composting and manuring, crop and pasture rotations and tree planting. Good milking and farming practices are used to protect the health of BioDynamic cows.
