Jalna a2 Yoghourt Launched Print E-mail

a2_product_rangeThe first Australian yoghourt made with a2 Milk™ has just been released in supermarkets, giving consumers a real choice in terms of natural intolerance protection.

Like all Jalna Yoghourts, Jalna a2 Yoghourt is naturally ‘pot set’ with no additives like gelatine, preservatives, colours or food acids, no cane sugar or artificial sweeteners, no gluten or starches. Low lactose (less than 2g per 100g), low G.I. and made from milk rich in the naturally occurring a2 protein and aBc cultures (over 600,000,000 bacteria in every serve), these new yoghourts may provide protection from a range of intolerance responses to cows’ milk proteins and assist digestive wellbeing.

Jalna has four new varieties of a2 Yoghourt available:

    Available in 1kg tubs, because you won’t be able to resist coming back for more, like all Jalna Yoghourts this Vanilla a2 Yoghourt has all the aBc cultures you need. Plus the natural vanilla bean flavour and rich texture of Jalna ‘pot set’ yoghourt make it a delicious choice. With only 4.7% fat - far lower than alternatives like cream – why not add it as a sumptuous topping for desserts or cake, or simply enjoy all that dairy goodness on its own?

    Jalna makes its a2 Low Fat Natural Yoghourt from a2 milk and ‘friendly’ aBc cultures, to a traditional recipe. Creamy and rich, but 98% fat free, this a2 Yoghourt is perfect to counter a fiery curry, in dips, as a marinade or base for a dressing or whenever you want the unique tang of a true Natural Yoghourt, but with less fat.

    Jalna a2 Low Fat BerryFruit Yoghourt is made with a2 milk plus pureed blackberries, raspberries and boysenberries in the traditional ‘pot set’ way, so it’s rich and creamy but with less fat (98% fat free). Try it as a perfect to start the day with your favourite cereal, in smoothies, as a snack treat on its own or with fresh seasonal fruit. However you enjoy it, you’ll get plenty of calcium plus all the benefits of aBc cultures.

You are sure to enjoy the rich texture and flavour, but with less fat (98% fat free), in this ‘pot set’ Jalna a2 Yoghourt, made with milk rich in naturally occurring a2 milk, passionfruit puree and of course aBc cultures.

What is a2 Milk™?

A2 is the name of a milk protein that was in all dairy herds thousands of years ago. Milk from Jersey cows, Guernsey cows, other animals like sheep, goats and Asian cows naturally contain mostly these A2 beta casein proteins, whereas milk from cows such as Holsteins usually contain mostly the protein variant called A1 beta casein. In the 1970s most Australian dairy herds switched from using Jersey cows to Holsteins.  

The a2 Milk™ used to make Jalna a2 Yoghourt comes from the original breed of cows that naturally produce milk rich in A2 protein. a2 Milk™ contains only A2 protein sourced naturally from selected dairy cows.

Using a simple and non-invasive DNA test that analyses a sample hair from the tail of each dairy cow, those cows which produce a2 milk are then milked separately to produce pure and natural a2 Milk™ used to make Jalna a2 Yoghourt. (All a2 Milk™ in Jalna Yoghourt comes from Australian herds.) 

Now there’s a choice of Jalna yoghourt to enjoy. The only hard part will be choosing which variety to try first.
