Wellness Benefits of Jalna Yoghurt

Every pot of Jalna yoghurt is free from artificial additives and is gluten-free so when you pop the lid, you get dairy goodness in so many ways. Here are just some of the nutritional benefits to enjoying our range.

Probiotics

We now know that the best way to nourish your gut and increase the number of beneficial bacteria is through eating probiotic and prebiotic foods that enrich and nurture your microbiome. Every spoonful of our pot set yoghurt is packed with probiotic goodness. In fact, over 1 billion of the three abc probiotic strains are in every 100g serve. Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus casein (aBc)

Jalna’s Lactose Free Yoghurt contains its signature aBc probiotics plus Synbio 100® (Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Lactobacillus paracasei). That may all sound like a mouthful, but it’s a great thing to swallow, because Synbio 100® has been scientifically shown to reduce bloating, improve digestion and boost the number of beneficial probiotic bacteria in the gut.

Eating a variety of foods rich in dietary fibre, in particular soluble fibre and resistant starch (like wholegrains, vegetables and lentils), provides food for the ‘good bugs’ and helps increase good bacteria diversity – a sign of a healthy microbiome.

Some wonderful ways to get a mix of pre and probiotics is soaking oats with your Jalna yoghurt overnight for a breakfast bircher, adding some fruit or even a slightly under ripe banana with a dollop, or adding a few spoonfuls to a lentil and chickpea curry with cashew nuts. Your tastebuds will love it, so will your gut.

Protein

Protein is one of your body’s main building blocks. It’s an essential nutrient from which muscles, skin, hair and blood cells are made and there are so many foods including yoghurt which are a good source of protein.

Calcium

Getting the right amount of calcium is important for your bones, teeth and health of many of your body’s functions. And yoghurt is one of the best ways to get enough every day.

The great thing about Jalna yoghurt as a calcium source is, they are available in fat-free, low fat and whole milk options (all lower in fat than cream, cheese or ice-cream), plus it’s so versatile, you can include it in so many delicious recipes.
